River otter finds dinner in Bellingham Bay

A river otter feeds on small fish along the Taylor Dock walkway in Bellingham, Washington, on June 27, 2017. Male river otters average four feet in length and weigh 20-28 pounds, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. They are commonly seen in lakes, rivers and bays.


Skagit County getting ready to open its new jail

Skagit County is getting ready to open its new 400-bed jail, a big step up from its current 83-bed correctional center. It’s one of the largest buildings in Mount Vernon and with a price tag of $48 million, and one of the more expensive projects the county has undertaken.
