This pristine mountain meadow offers astounding views of Mount Baker and numerous other surrounding peaks.

The trail diverges from the Tomyhoi Lake Trail after 1� miles and traverses through several drainages before reaching the butte.

Permits: Northwest Forest Pass required; $5 for the day or $30 for an annual pass.

Getting there: Drive east on Highway 542 to the Glacier Public Service Center. From there, travel 12 miles to Twin Lakes Road (Forest Service Road 3065) just beyond the Department of Transportation�s Shuksan maintenance facility. Follow road 4.5 miles to trailhead. Drive time from Bellingham: 1 hour, 30 minutes. Parking: Park along the road.
