LOPEZ (3-5, 1-3) AT LUMMI (8-1, 4-0)

Time: Thursday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m. Site: Lummi Nation School

Lobos update: Lopez has lost three straight games and is coming off a 42-30 loss to Crescent last week. The Lobos held Lummi to 38 points the last time these two met earlier in the year, but managed only 18 points in the loss.

Blackhawks update: Lummi wrapped up the top seed from the Pacific Coast League North Division last week with a 60-38 win over Neah Bay. The game was supposed to be a good challenge for Lummi, and for a while it was, but the Blackhawks pulled away in the third quarter. Lummi will meet the No. 4 seed from the PCL South in the first round of the postseason.

Key to the game: With bigger things on the horizon Lummi would be best served to play a good first half and then give its key starters a rest.

Player to watch: Lummi's Dustin Tom probably won't play much in this game, but expect a couple of touchdowns before he shuts it down.

COUPEVILLE (0-9, 0-7) AT MERIDIAN (4-5, 3-3)

Time: Thursday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m. Site: Civic Stadium

Wolves update: Coupeville doesn't have a win yet this season, but that doesn't mean the Wolves will be a pushover for Meridian. Coupeville put a major scare into South Whidbey last week, eventually losing 6-2. The Wolves have played well in recent weeks and have looked solid against Class 1A opponents.

Trojans update: Meridian enters the Class 1A Northwest District playoffs coming off a loss in its final regular season game, but the Trojans have a very favorable matchup as the No. 2 seed. Meridian can't be underestimated in the postseason because the program has proven it knows how to win in the playoffs. Quarterback Zach Slesk is improving with each game and he and Mitchell Tripp are one of the best pass and catch combos in the conference.

Key to the game: Meridian's held an early lead in many of its losses this season, but has had trouble keeping it. The Trojans can't get worn down by Coupeville.

Player to watch: Meridian's Zach Slesk will get his chance to work some postseason magic.

LYNDEN CHRISTIAN (4-5, 2-4) AT KING'S (4-5, 2-5)

Time: Thursday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m. Site: King's High School

Knights update: The Knights have lost their last two games, but both were against quality opponents in Archbishop Murphy and Granite Falls. Sophomore Thomas Vincent has become a good running and passing quarterback this season. He is dangerous. He throws to John Burley and Curtis Clauson. Both are good runners after the catch.

Lyncs update: Lynden Christian's unpredictable season took another turn last week when the Lyncs fell 35-6 to Friday Harbor. Sure it was a meaningless game in terms of the postseason, but it sends the Lyncs limping into the second season. Lynden Christian will have to rally quickly to beat a solid King's team on the road.

Key to the game: Lynden Christian's run game has been hit or miss this season. It will have to be effective against King's.

Player to watch: Lynden Christian seems to be at its best when Niels Brisbane is carrying the ball.
