Mount Vernon scored first in overtime against Meadowdale on Friday, Oct. 16, but failed to convert the extra point. It was all Meadowdale needed to take a 20-19 overtime non-conference win over the Bulldogs to stay undefeated.

Sam Werner kicked the extra point for the win after Meadowdale's Danny McDonald threw a 7-yard touchdown to Connor Hamlett.

Mount Vernon opened the overtime period with a 1-yard touchdown plunge by Jake Weber-Koetje, but the extra kick was blocked.

Mount Vernon scored a field goal, a safety and a fumble return by Weber-Koetje to go up 13-6 in the third quarter before Meadowdale scored in the fourth to tie the game at 13-13.

The Bulldogs fell to 5-2.
