After dropping its first two sets to Highland Christian, the Lummi volleyball team took the next three to secure the victory 19-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-12, 15-10 on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Lummi, 3-7, utilized a newly-designed offensive strategy, Lummi coach Dan Williams said.

"With our new offense, the hitters are closer to the net," Williams said in a phone interview. "We were still able to hammer them down pretty good."

Kyla Frajman led Lummi with 21 kills and 18 blocks. Reyna Jones finished with 18 digs and Amanda Humphreys and Lakeisha Point were perfect from the service line.

With the season winding down, the Blackhawks have their sights set on the offseason.

"We're fighting to make it to districts right now, and I think we have a combination that will take us there," Williams said.
