PREP BOYS' CROSS COUNTRY: Squalicum takes Whatcom Falls meet over Meridian, Nooksack Valley, Mount Vernon

Squalicum's Danny Gibson crossed the finish line first at Whatcom Falls Park in sixteen minutes and forty eight seconds to help his squad place first on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in a Northwest conference meet. Mount Vernon finished second with 45 points and Meridian and Nooksack Valley followed with 70 points and 88 points, respectively.

"I know we're running tired," Squalicum coach Peter Oviatt said. "We've been running hard since last weekend and this is our last week of fitness before our conference meet."

Ethan Garrison finished second overall and first for Mount Vernon with a time of 16:51. Meridian's Sam Ryan finished first for his squad with an 18:00 time and Nooksack Valley's Oliver Bear Don't Walk posted a 17:55 minute time as his team's top runner.
