Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie of the Apes, and the rest of the gang with a performance by Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth students in the classic musical and Disney hit, “The Jungle Book,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27-29, at BAAY Theatre, 1059 N. State S.
The musical starts with Mowgli, a young orphan boy, who is found in a basket in the deep jungles of India by Bagheera, a black panther who promptly takes him to a mother wolf who has just had cubs. She raises him along with her own cubs and Mowgli soon becomes well-acquainted with jungle life. Mowgli is shown 10 years later, playing with his wolf siblings.
Watch the cast of BAAY students, ages 9-12, as they sing, dance and act in the adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s stories. Join the cast for a free pre-show gala before Saturday’s performance with food and drinks.
Tickets are $10; free for youths 7 and younger. Details: 360-306-1543, baay.org.
