For the 16th year, Interfaith Coalition will host Choir Fest, a celebration of musical diversity by eight choirs from congregations around Whatcom County.
The concert will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave.
Each choir will sing an individual selection of its own choosing, followed by all of the choirs — expected to be about 175 voices — coming together for two special selections. Spiritual music, from traditional to gospel, performed by choirs large and small, will be featured.
Although the concert is free, offerings are welcome to benefit Interfaith’s shelter and health care programs.
Interfaith Coalition includes 44 member congregations and PeaceHealth. Now in its 31st year, the coalition supports housing and health care for all.
Interfaith has eight emergency homes for families in Bellingham, plus three more that will open this summer in Ferndale. It also operates two severe-weather shelters for homeless men and women.
