With the theme “Growing Seeds of Nourishment & Medicine,” the annual Community Seed Swap & Fundraiser will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St.
The event is geared toward seed-savers and people donating heirloom seeds, edible tubers or seed potatoes.
Participants should label their envelopes with the plant strain and date. “Seedless” visitors who commit to plant seeds, share their garden’s abundance, and learn about the seed-saving process, are encouraged to attend.
Guidelines for participants: Choose a few seeds, ones you’re sure to plant, and share the harvest with others once they grow. Guests are invited to become guardians of organic heirloom and open-pollinated seeds by saving seeds and buying fresh garden seeds from local seed-saver businesses. No GMO or squash seeds, please.
Never miss a local story.
Light refreshments will be served. Donations are appreciated. Details: sustainablebellingham.org.
