Need a boost to your New Year? Ready to make 2015 your best year ever?
Village Books, 1200 11th St., hosts its annual “Resolutions,” a day devoted to starting the year right. Local experts present mini-workshops on topics ranging from clearing the clutter, to navigating difficult conversations, to making fitness goals.
The free workshops run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3. Come to one workshop or several, and bring your questions, ideas, and a snack too.
No tickets or registration is necessary. Participants receive 10 percent off recommended resolutions-related books that day only. The schedule:

11 a.m.: Simplifying for the New Year with Carolyn Koehnline.
Noon: Difficult conversations with Janet Ott.
1 p.m.: Planning ahead with the Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement.
2 p.m.: Altering the future with food with Sonja Max.
3 p.m.: Top ten pips for running or walking success with Steve Roguski of Fairhaven Runners & Walkers.
On Sunday, Jan. 4, a free series of “Resolutions for Writers” is offered from noon to 5 p.m.
