The Shook Twins is not your average folk band.
The quirky quartet features identical twins Katelyn and Laurie Shook, who now live in Portland, Ore., but were born and raised in Idaho, as the core of a band known for eclectic instrumentation and an affinity to drop a beatbox in the middle of a song. Audiences are likely to be treated to the guitar, glockenspiel, mandolin, banjo and more, including their signature “golden egg” and some inventive use of a looping machine.
They perform at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St. Tickets are $8 advance, $10 day of show. Sky Colony opens.
