Join the Skagit River Poetry Foundation and the Port of Skagit for a night of summer music from The Fugitives, a spoken word and acoustic band from Vancouver, B.C., at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the La Conner Marina, 613 Second St.
The open-air event kicks off four hours of music. Erik Christensen Band, a lyrical folk rock group from Coupeville, opens.
Members of the Fugitives include Brendan McLeod, a novelist and Canadian SLAM poetry champion; and Adrian Glynn, an actor seen in "Chelsea Hotel," a play based on the songs and poems of Leonard Cohen. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with a beer garden.
