Bellingham poet Robert Lashley reads from his recent book, "The Homeboy Songs," with fellow poet Jessica Lohafer opening, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Redlight, 1017 N. State St.
A semifinalist for the PEN/Rosenthal fellowship, Lashley has had poems published in such journals as Nailed Magazine, Feminete, No Regrets, and Your Hands, Your Mouth.
His work was also featured in "Many Trails to the Summit," an anthology of Northwest form and lyric poetry. "The Homeboy Songs" is his complex homage to the black community of Tacoma.
