Whatcom County Councilwoman Laurie Caskey-Schreiber has changed her mind about not seeking re-election - but she won't be seeking re-election to her same seat.
Caskey-Schreiber announced Monday, April 13, that while she already decided not to seek re-election to her District 2 seat, she will vie for the At-Large position being vacated by Councilman Seth Fleetwood.
Fleetwood said Friday that he would seek the Bellingham City Council's At-Large position after City Councilwoman Louise Bjornson announced her retirement.
Caskey-Schreiber, 48, is in her second term on the County Council and works in Western Washington University's sociology department.
In November 2007, she said she wouldn't run again, saying eight years was enough. On Monday, she said the "pros outweighed the cons" of not seeking another term in a different seat.
