Goodrich overtakes Olson in Ferndale council race

FERNDALE - After trailing in preliminary election totals, challenger Brent Goodrich is now beating City Council incumbent Keith Olson, according to the latest results from the Whatcom County Auditor's Office.

Goodrich now leads Olson 50.54 percent to 49.46 percent in the race for the council's Position 7 seat, according to a tally released about 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. It's a difference of 23 votes.

Olson, who first took office in January 2006, was leading in the election night vote count and in two later counts.
