A member of the Washington Policy Center will give a presentation about the 2009 legislative session’s impact on small-business own-ers and taxpayers.
Carl Gipson will be speaking at noon Wednesday, June 10, at the monthly Northwest Business Club luncheon at the Elks Lodge, 710 S. Samish Way in Bellingham.
Gipson, director of small business, technology and telecommunications at the center, will tackle a variety of topics about the recently completed legislative session, including what to expect in the next year and whether cash stimulus can prop up the public sector.
The Center for Small Business for Washington Policy Center focuses on improving the state’s small business climate through re-searching and analyzing ways to improve the taxation and regulation of such businesses to encourage economic development.
Gipson is the author of papers such as Reviving Washington’s Small Business Climate, 24 Ways to Improve Washington’s Small Busi-ness Climate and A Citizen’s Guide to Initiative 920 — the Estate Tax.
The buffet luncheon is $10 for members, $15 for guests and $20 for non-members. The buffet opens at 11:45 a.m., the meeting com-mences at noon and adjourns at 1:30 p.m. For details, visit nwbclub.org.
