Back Porch Alley restaurant opening delayed

BELLINGHAM — The Back Porch Alley has pushed its opening date to Thursday, Jan. 15.

Co-owner Layne Southcott had originally announced a Saturday, Jan. 10, opening date but decided to move it to next week to make sure all the inspections were completed.

The restaurant, which will offer southern-style food as well as jazz and blues music, is going into the former Callaloo Caribbean Kitchen space at 1212 N. State St. It will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in January, then be open more often in February.
