Chinese Medicine Center opens in Fairhaven

Ping Rice opened Chinese Medicine Center last month in Fairhaven's 12th St. Village building.

Rice's specialties include chronic pain of the neck, back, shoulders and knees; headaches/migraines; sleep disorders; depression; stress; asthma; infertility; and cold and flu. Besides acupuncture, she offers Chinese herbal medicines and focuses on preventative medicine.

Rice previously operated a practice for four years in Anchorage before she and her husband, Don Rice, moved to Bellingham. She earned her bachelor's degree in Chinese medicine from Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine in 1984 and has licenses in acupuncture for the states of Alaska and Washington. She has more than 20 years practice experience in traditional Chinese medicine.
