The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry is partnering with the city of Bellingham and Whatcom County government to help businesses reduce pollution.

The Local Source Control Partnership will be working with local businesses that use or generate small amounts of hazardous waste. The program provides free educational and technical assistance to owners and managers of companies that want to help the environment.

This is not a regulatory inspection. A visit by the Local Source Control Partnership will help inform business owners of possible ways pollutants can be prevented from entering stormwater. Chamber members who participate in this voluntary program will be listed on the Chamber's Web site under a special section regarding the source control partnership.

For more information, call Bri Silbaugh at 778-7961 or Mindy Collins at 778-7900. Both are control specialists for Bellingham.
