A fresh report gives new details about the home sales slowdown in Whatcom County.

First American Title of Bellingham reported 240 homes were sold in Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden and Blaine in June, down 32.8 percent compared to the same period last year. First American Title tracks all recorded home sales, including for sale by owner. Earlier reports from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service track homes sold by real estate agents.

For the year, 1,139 homes have been sold in those four communities, down 27.4 percent compared to the first six months of last year, according to the title company. Condominium sales in those communities for the first half of the year totaled 314 units, down 20.3 percent compared to the first half of 2007.
