Doc and Joyce will celebrate their 50th anniversary on August 20th. They were married August 20, 1958 in Sumas. Their children are Doreen (Lauren) Meenderinck, Karrin (Dean) Simpson, Tim Zylstra and Tom (Bridget) Zylstra and their 12 grandchildren. Daughter-in-law Trisha Ann and grandson, Fletcher Paul are in Heaven with Jesus. The entire family will celebrate over Thanksgiving in Puerto Vallarta. They attribute the success of their marriage to God and His faithfulness throughout the years.
