Longtime Bellingham residents Dick and Sharon Bruland celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 20. Both are retired from the Bellingham School District, allowing them more time to enjoy their eight grandchildren. They celebrated the occasion with family.

Anna Blok and Anthony Hoefakker were married on April 3, 2009, at Faith Community Church in Lynden with Rev. Christopher Gordon officiating. The bride is a daughter of Roger and Jackie Blok of Lynden. Rodney and Christine Hoefakker are the parents of the groom. Serving as matrons of honor were Heidi Joostens and Barbi Som. The bridesmaids were Anna Roulson and Tana Drost, and the flower girls were Kaitlyn and Mackenzie Joostens. Serving as best man was Justin Thalen. The groomsmen were Matthew Hoefakker, James Hoefakker and Justice Som, and the ringbearer was Jared Hoefakker. After a honeymoon trip to Southern California, the couple will live in Lynden.

We welcomed our little Angel Grady Baker on 5/30/2009. His parents are Adam and Angie (Barnhart) Bergeron of Vermont. Proud first time grandparents are Jennie, Dave and Beth Barnhart of Bellingham, Jack and Cathy Bergeron of Vermont.
Stuart - Murphy
Scott and Lori Stuart of Ferndale, WA announce the marriage of their daughter Sheri Stuart to Airman First Class Brian Lee Murphy, son of Ronda and Dennis Murphy of Selah, WA. After meeting in high school 9 yrs ago the two will be married July 5th in Ferndale, WA when Brian is home on leave from Aviano Air Base, Italy.
