The Vermont Board of Libraries is recommending changing the name of a children's book award that now honors a prominent Vermont author and activist accused of once supporting sterilizing people with severe mental and physical disabilities.
Former Lummi Nation tribal chairman Tim Ballew II, among seven finalists for a vacant seat on the Whatcom County Council, addressed the council and answered questions Tuesday, Jan. 16.
