Fourth of July fun in Whatcom County

Planning ahead for the 4th of July holiday? Here's what's happening in Whatcom County:
• The Haggen Family Fourth of July celebration, from 1 to 9:30 p.m. at Zuanich Point Park, offers live music, kids’ activities, food and craft vendors and a beer garden. Fireworks begin at 10:30 p.m. Call 676-2500 or 734-1330 or go to Bellingham.com for details.

• “Blaine’s Gonna Rock” is the theme for downtown Blaine’s festival, which includes a parade at noon, a community picnic, a car show and a jazz concert. Fireworks are displayed over Semiahmoo Bay at 10:15 p.m. The fun continues downtown from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, with more music and kids’ activities. If you're planning on your own fireworks, here are the times when they are legal:

In Bellingham:

July 4: 9 a.m. to midnight.

In Whatcom County:

Now through July 3: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

July 4: 9 a.m. to midnight.

July 5: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
