Whatcom County residents can donate to cancer research without opening their wallets.

Jamie Imus, a financial representative for Country Financial, is offering a coupon program to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

Imus will donate $10 to the ACS for each person who brings in a completed coupon and schedules a free insurance and financial review. No purchase is necessary, and coupons are available at his office in Blossom Commons, on the corner of Guide Meridian and Kellogg Rd in Bellingham, or by contacting him by phone (360) 527-0205 or e-mail at jamie.imus@countryfinancial.com.

This year's Relay For Life will kick off July 10, surrounding the downtown Bellingham Public Library at 210 Central Ave. The event, which is open to the public, will feature live entertainment, camaraderie and a festive atmosphere.

Last year, Whatcom County residents raised more than $300,000 for the ACS. Organizers hope to raise over $350,000 this year. The American Cancer Society named Country to the National Corporate Team Program, making the insurance and financial services provider one of the 37 top companies to make such a large commitment to Relay For Life.
