Bellingham-based Credo Construction, Inc. was recently given an award for the top residential exterior remodeling project in the state.

Credo Construction received the award at the Building Industry Association of Washington's Excellence in Remodeling awards program on Wednesday, June 17, at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine. The company was recognized for its work on the Chuckanut Mountain house of Jim and Judy Woods. Credo Construction was the only Whatcom County contractor to win one of the BIAW's 2009 Excellence in Remodeling awards.

The remodel integrated some of today's most modern materials and building techniques, resulting in a contemporary look and design, according to a company press release. The entire envelope restoration included new decks and glass railings, reverse board and batten siding installed with a rain screen, metal roofing, and custom windows and doors. A three-car garage was relocated to enhance the view of the home. Project design was completed by Tirzah Woods of Woods Design Studio.

Todd Lapinsky, president, and Clarence Kobes, project manager, are co-owners of Credo Construction. The Bellingham general contractor specializes in all phases of construction, including commercial, industrial, custom homes, pre-engineered steel buildings and remodels. Credo Construction is licensed in Washington, Hawaii, Alaska and British Columbia.
