Owner of Tiger Construction named contractor of the year

Steve Isenhart, vice president and owner of Tiger Construction, Ltd. in Everson, was named as the 2008 Contractor of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of Washington during its annual convention January 23 in Bellevue.

Isenhart was honored for his service to the association. He has been a member of the AGC Board of Trustees and the association's Northern District Representative for the past three years.

In addition to his service to the construction industry, Isenhart is an active member of the local community. He is a retired volunteer fireman and EMT who served 20 years at the Kendall Fire Station, and he has served as a commissioner for the Whatcom County Fire District 14.

At its convention the association also elected Frank Imhof, president of IMCO General Construction, Inc. in Bellingham, to its board of trustees.

FOUR AT DAVID EVANS GET LEED CERTIFIED

Four Bellingham employees of David Evans and Associates, Inc. recently passed their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) exams.

The new LEED Accredited Professionals are: Nicholas Vann - assistant project manager, Inga Drechsel - project manager, Danielle Johnston, project engineer and Rhett Winter, project engineer.

LAKEWAY INN PROMOTES THREE IN SALES DEPT.

The Lakeway Inn & Conference Center in Bellingham has promoted Christine Jenkins to director of sales.

The Lakeway Inn also hired Jill Radel as senior sales manager and promoted Erin Divine to sales manager.

Jenkins had been the Lakeway Inn's corporate sales and marketing manager since 2005. A Western Washington University graduate, she also headed marketing and public relations for Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism for seven years. In her new position, she will oversee all efforts to attract businesses and organizations to the Lakeway Inn while continuing to personally serve local corporate accounts and Western Washington University.

Radel, most recently membership and convention manager for Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism, has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, including 10 years connected to the hospitality industry and event planning. Also a WWU graduate, she will manage convention and meeting needs for associations, group tours and education clients.

Divine, a graduate of Western Michigan University had been the Lakeway Inn's catering sales manager the last two years. She now focuses on convention and meeting needs of U.S. armed forces, government entities, fraternal organizations and sports teams.

KETTERING NAMED DISTRICT MANAGER FOR KELLY SERVICES

Kiera Kettering has been appointed district manager for Kelly Services of the Whatcom County Region.

Kettering is responsible for the overall sales and business development operations of Kelly's offices serving Whatcom County. She has more than 10 years of sales and management experience, including nearly five years of experience in the human resources and staffing industries.

Kettering attended Boise State University where she studied marketing and communications. She is a member of the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce, the Society for Human Resource Management, Women Empowering Each Other, and the Business Development Institute.

TURNER ATTENDS PHOTOGRAPHERS CONVENTION

Mark Turner of Turner Photographics in Bellingham recently attended Imaging USA, one of the largest conventions and tradeshows designed exclusively for photography professionals.

More than 7,500 photographers and vendors attended this event January 11-13 in Phoenix.

Turner, who is the photographer of two books, Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest and Bellingham Impressions, is reinventing his business to concentrate on the family and senior portrait markets in Whatcom County.

JERNS JOINS KELLER WILLIAMS REAL ESTATE OFFICE

Pat Jerns has joined Keller Williams Western Realty in Bellingham as team leader/CEO following a move back to the area after nine years as a real estate educator, including doing negotiation training in Arizona.

He has more than 30 years experience in the real estate profession, and is a certified mediator. In his new position, Jerns is responsible for leading the company to a higher level of agent excellence through training and individual coaching.
