Nominees named for Bellingham/Whatcom chamber's award banquet

The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry has chosen its nominees for its 2008 small and large businesses of the year awards.

The nominees for Small Business of the Year are 1-800-Got-Junk, Zazen Salon Spa, Net Solutions NA, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen and Emerald Bay Events.

The nominees for Large Business of the Year are Peoples Bank, Lakeway Inn and Conference Center, Costco, Wal-Mart and Haggen.

Nominations are made from throughout the community, and a committee of chamber members makes the decision on the five finalists in each category. The winners will be named at the annual awards banquet, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 8, at the Lakeway Inn and Conference Center.

In addition to those awards, the chamber will name the Man and Woman of the Year, Green Business of the Year and Non-Profit Business of the Year.
