A new tutoring center will hold several open house events to give the community a chance to meet the instructors and learn about its programs.

Advantage Tutoring Center is next to Soccer City in the Blossom Commons retail center at 159 W. Kellogg Road. The center has scheduled open house events for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21; and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Mary Morrison, the center's owner and director, has a master's degree in curriculum instruction, has taught in public and private schools, and has experience with home school teaching.

She has incorporated three programs to help a variety of students: They provide help with students who have learning disabilities, learning frustration, poor self-confidence, or dyslexia, while also working to improve memory, reading and math skills.
