WECU donates more than $14,000 to local non-profits

Whatcom Educational Credit Union recently donated $14,150 to several local non-profits.

Those non-profits were Alderwood Elementary School Library, American Museum of Radio and Electricity, Assistance League of Bellingham, Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center, Catholic Community Services/Hope House, Computers for Kids in Need, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, Interfaith Coalition of Whatcom County, Kulshan Community Land Trust, Musical Salute to Veterans, Northwest Youth Services, Opportunity Council/ Dorothy Place, Sister Rose Fidelma Auxiliary - St. Joseph Hospital, United Way - 2009 Kick-off Campaign, Whatcom County Council on Aging, Whatcom Hospice, and the Womencare Shelter.

The Social Responsibility Committee oversees WECU's monetary donations and participation in volunteer projects. WECU's focus in our 2009 donation reviews will be on humanitarian issues.

Requests for monetary donations are made through an application process. Applications for donation and information about the Social Responsibility Committee are available at wecu.com.
