Western Washington University's Center for Economic Vitality and the Blaine Chamber of Commerce are partnering to provide a workshop designed to help businesses evaluate the opportunities and challenges involved in using social media.
The workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Blaine School District board room, located at 765 H. St., in Blaine. There is no charge for the workshop. Pre-registration is recommended; a light dessert will be provided by the Blaine Chamber of Commerce.
At the workshop, Eric Grimstead, a business strategist at the Center for Economic Vitality, will present "The Social Media Playbook." The presentation will provide a framework for establishing a clear set of objectives in using social media activities to drive business, including how to think strategically about the use of social media to market the business, the platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.) and where to find the best fans for the business, preventing mistakes and measuring success.
Participants should register with Carroll Solomon by noon on Monday, Nov. 9 at (360) 332-4544 or VIC@cityofblaine.com.
For more than 20 years, the Center for Economic Vitality (CEV), formerly the SBDC, has enabled Western Washington's College of Business and Economics to give back to the business community and has helped to shape the economic future of Whatcom County one business at a time.
