Bellingham High School graduate Claire Rachor is in second place at the PNGA Women's Amateur qualifying round after shooting a 35-38-73 on Tuesday, July 7, at Arrowhead Golf Club in Mollala, Ore. Sara Ovadia, from Santa Barbara, Calif., is one stroke ahead with a 36-36-72 on the 6,198-yard, par-72 course.
In the Women's Mid-Amateur, being played at the same course as a 5,790-yards, par-72 round, Catherine Allen, of Bellingham is in 15th place after a 42-40-82.
At the PNGA Men's Amateur Championship at The Home Course in Dupont, Will Holdridge, a Lynden graduate, shot a 37-38-75 to hold a tie at 51st place.
Bryant D'Hondt of Bellingham was in a tie for 72 nd after a 38-38-76, Squalicum graduate Matt Rawitzer shot a 36-41-77 for a tie at 86 and Martin White of Bellingham had a 43-42-85 for a tie at 162 on the 7,269-yard, par 72 course.
