IBL BASKETBALL: Slam to play Tacoma Tide in playoffs

After receiving a first-round bye, the Bellingham Slam open the International Basketball League playoffs with a game on Thursday, July 2, against the Tacoma Tide at Monroe Sports Arena.

Tacoma defeated the Central Oregon Hotshots, 117-98, in the first round on Wednesday.

If Bellingham wins on Thursday, the team would advance to the American Conference championship game against either the Seattle Mountaineers or Los Angeles Lightning at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The winner of that game would then advance to the IBL Championship game played two weeks later.

This week’s playoff tournament is hosted by the Snohomish County Explosion and all games are played at the Monroe Sports Arena. For ticket information, visit the Explosion's website at explosionbasketball.net or by calling (425) 399-2255.
