Bellingham runners took top finishes in both the men's and women's marathon races at the Seattle Marathon, which took place Sunday, Nov. 29, in Seattle.
Lauren Breihof, a sophomore runner for the Western Washington women's cross country team that finished eighth at the Division II NCAA National Championships on Nov. 21, ran the race in 2 hours, 58 minutes and 59 seconds for the women's top time. Breihof also earned All-American honors by finishing 31st overall at nationals.
Charlie Sunderlage, who runs as a member of the local Runningshoes.com team, took the men's title with a time of 2:32.27.
