PREP FOOTBALL: Anacortes tops Mount Vernon in overtime in season finale for both schools

Anacortes scored a touchdown in overtime to defeat Mount Vernon 27-24 in a Class 2A non-playoff crossover on Friday, Nov. 6, at Anacortes.

The game ended both team's seasons as the Seahawks finish at 3-7 overall while the Bulldogs finish at 5-5 overall.

Anacortes won the game when Cody Culp threw a 10-yard pass to Chris Stoneham. Mount Vernon had kicked a field goal to take a three-point lead in overtime.

Each team had big passing plays in the game. Mount Vernon's Jake Weber-Koetje threw touchdown passes of 40, 69 and 14 yards. Meanwhile, Culp threw touchdown passes of 71 and 50 yards and finished with 219 yards passing.

Daniel Codd rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown for Anacortes. Codd also caught one of Culp's touchdowns (71 yards).
