Burlington-Edison shut out South Whidbey 45-0 in a Class 2A Northwest District playoff game on Friday, Nov. 6, at Burlington.
The win advances the Tigers (8-2) to the Class 2A State Tournament where they will either play Sequim on the road or host a playoff game if Lynden loses to Squalicum on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Damon Acoba led Burlington-Edison's 45-point output with 101 yards rushing on 10 carries and two scoring runs of 5 and 14 yards.
As a team the Tigers scored five rushing touchdowns and also had an 18-yard interception return for a score by Jeff Hayton.
Burlington-Edison put the game away early with 21 points in the first quarter and later led 35-0 at halftime.
South Whidbey finished its season at 4-6.
