Lummi fell to Lopez 25-16, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22 in a volleyball match on Monday, Nov. 2, but will quickly turn their attention to a the postseason.
The Blackhawks, who were led by Gillian Roberts six blocks, earned a fourth seed for the Class 1B Tri-District Volleyball Tournament and are set to play Neah Bay on Wednesday, Nov. 25, in a double-elimination format.
Lummi also got 12 kills from Rosie Jefferson and 10 digs from Reyna Jones, but couldn't capitalize after evening the sets at 1-1.
"When you hit a ball into the net we call it a tuna," Lummi coach Dan Williams said. "My girls have been doing very well serving, but tonight we had 12 tunas and they were at crucial times."
The Blackhawks will have to travel to Crescent for the Wednesday match, which will pit them against a team that finished at the top of the league.
"I'm hoping that they're overlooking us and we can take a bite out of them," Williams said of Neah Bay.
