Coryn Bajema had four goals and the Lynden Christian girls' soccer team defeated Nooksack Valley 6-0 in Northwest Conference action on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Lynden.
It was the regular-season finale for the Lyncs who improved to 3-13, 2-11 NWC. Lynden Christian will be the NWC Class 1A No. 2 or No. 3 seed for district, depending on Meridian's outcome against Sedro-Woolley on Monday, Oct. 26.
Bajema scored the game's first goal in the sixth minute and added another goal in the 15th minute as the Lyncs built a 4-0 halftime lead. Bajema scored two more goals in the 47th and 57th minutes as Lynden Christian outshot Nooksack Valley 18-1.
"It was probably our most complete game we've played in the second half of the season," Lyncs coach Brent DeRuyter said in a phone interview. "The girls played great team soccer."
Louisa Brisbane recorded the shutout in goal for Lynden Christian.
Nooksack Valley dropped to 1-14, 0-13 NWC.
