Western Washington University was outshot, 22-6, as it fell 3-0 to Cal State Dominguez Hills in a non-conference men's soccer game Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Carson, Calif.

The Vikings, who were blanked for only the third time this season, fell to 5-9-0.

CSUDH, ranked No.6 in the latest NCAA Division II West Region rating and the defending national champion, improved to 11-5-1 with its fifth straight win. The Toros are 7-1-1 at home.

"I was proud of the effort, the guys worked hard," said Western coach Travis Connell. "But we made too many mistakes. ... You make mistakes against a good team, they're going to score on you and that's what happened to us tonight, they just punished us when we made mistakes."

CSUDH got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute, Kevin Gallaugher scoring on a penalty kick.

The Toros scored again early in the second half, Tyler Petry finding the net off a rebound of a shot by Scott Locken.

The last CSUDH goal came in the final minute when Ryan Evans scored after collecting a loose ball in the box, Greg Piechota being credited with the assist.
