Blue Sea Systems, a Bellingham-based manufacturer of marine electrical systems, earned an honorable mention for its new SafetyHub250 at the 2009 International Boatbuilders' Exhibition and Conference in Miami earlier this month.
Judges based their decisions on the product's innovation and benefit to the marine industry and consumers.
The SafetyHub250 combines an ignition-protected fuse block with a remote battery switch and integrated connecting plugs. It consolidates up to seven circuits from 1A - 200A, eliminates loose wires, protects fuses from explosive fumes, and provides main battery shutdown from a safe location. The SafetyHub250 is ideal for vessels ranging from ski boats to offshore fishing boats, according to a company press release.
"The selection of the SafetyHub250 for honorable mention for the IBEX Innovation Award demonstrates this product's significance to the marine market," said Scott Renne, President of Blue Sea Systems in the press release.
Blue Sea Systems was founded in 1992 based on a commitment to create innovative high quality marine electrical products to improve the safety, simplicity, and reliability of boating. For specific product information and to learn more about Blue Sea Systems, visit bluesea.com.
