Question: What is Notorious Productions?

Answer; A company started by Western Grad Jason Labaws. Jason and I work together to create events, promote and ensure everybody has a memorable time at the events.

Q: What is the Goal?

A: The goal of Notorious Productions is to throw the best events/party's in town and to ultimately liven the nightlife here in Bellingham. We are not satisfied unless everybody is having a great time. I feel that parties have their ups and downs but the most important thing is that even when you are drinking you will network and forge valuable relationships that are beneficiary for all who participate.

Q: What events has Notorious Productions put on in the past?

A: We've put on some very large events in the past, most notably some black and white cocktail formals, The 18-20/21+ White T party, Annual sunset cruise(benefiting Whatcom County Boys and Girls Club), The Western Swimsuit calendar, Summer Jump-off fashion show, Party bus's to Canada and now our gem Notorious Thursday's at DTJS. Each time we do an event they become bigger and better it seems.

Q: Do you put on events for other people or just create and promote your own events?

A: Generally we create and put on our own events, however we have worked with other productions companies such as Leftside on numerous occasions. However, in the near future I’m sure we will expand into doing events for people, all they really need to do is ask and I'm there for them.

Q: What separates a Notorious Productions event from other local events?

A: It comes down to us knowing what the crowd wants through extensive networking experience, and our undying drive to give everybody exactly what they want. We keep a couple things in mind at all times, Drink specials, attractions and of course fun. If people aren't dancing, we change the music up a bit. If people get sick of Vodka red bulls, we negotiate a different special. If somebody loses something, I help them find it. If somebody wants a party bus to Canada, we put it together. If the Nintendo doesn't work, try to fix it.

Q: Do you think the nightlife in Bellingham is lacking something?

A: I feel that Bellingham is too strict on the nightlife, which is understandable. Bellingham is a liberal town with yet very conservative practices. I feel that the older generation, far removed from college, does not understand the importance of college students having fun. It’s a part of life and very important for a college student to be able to go to events, maybe drink a little and meet people who have the same interests in the real world. A degree won't buy you a future these days. It’s about who you know, so I'm a firm supporter in people putting themselves out there to meet people. You may never know how the next person can change your life. It's also apparent that there is a noise ordinance movement in town in which i firmly support.

Its just needs to be delivered the right way to legislation. There definitely needs to be some students on board with the movement. So really what it comes down to is that people need to know its okay to go downtown, spend a little money (not too much) and have some fun. And we will be there for that to make sure that people get exactly what they want when they do choose to venture out into the Bellingham night life.
