BEER
Honey Moon doesn't live up to its label
Blue Moon is a decent-but-unspectacular wheat beer that is widely available in many local drinking establishments. Honey Moon, Blue Moon's summer seasonal brew, is equally underwhelming.
The beer's label brags of clover honey and orange peel along with the pale and white wheat malts of Blue Moon. You'd think the extra flavor might spruce things up a bit, but I'm still left wanting more from this beer.
Sure, the hints of citrus and sweet tang of the honey match well with the gentle wheat base at first, but that flavor is fleeting. The aftertaste is nearly nonexistent, giving this the feeling of a watered-down hefeweizen.
Those looking for sweet wheat beers in this style would be better served by Pyramid or Widmer Brothers hefeweizens or New Belgium's Mothership Wit.
Blue Moons are often served with a slice of orange at many bars. If you've had that, then you've had this.
