MOTORSPORTS: Wheatley wins Deming 600s Friday night

Austin Wheatley turned in the performance of the night on Friday on Les Schwab Night at Deming Speedway. Wheatley cruised around the top of JR Thomas in the Frontier Chevrolet / Speedmart 600s on lap 12 and ran away from the pack to take home his second win of the year. Thomas held on for second. Third was Logan Forler.

Derek Holmwood won the Lifestyles RV 1200s, Jason Bloodgood was second and Steven Hendrickson took third.

Derek Moss won the PMP 600 Restricted with Rece Geotz taking second and Tyler Anderson took third.

Shawn Holtorf led for 25 laps and won the Advanced Sprint Car and Toys for Trucks 250 main. Spud Allen was second and Brandon Turner took third.

Greg Hamilton took his second race of the year by winning the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint main, Skyler Pawlowicz was second and Spencer Constance was third.
