Monday is Cinco de Mayo, and what better way to spend a Monday evening than dancing the salsa, having yourself a margarita or filling up on some delicious south-of-the-border specialties.

PINATA PARTY

Families can get together to make their own piñata from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Room, 2214 Electric Ave., sponsored by the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is $8 per family, with materials and snacks included. Call 778-7000 for more information.

SEAN HUMPHREY HOUSE

Sean Humphrey House, a nonprofit home for low-income people with HIV/AIDS, is hoping to raise $5,000 with a Mexican feast this weekend. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Broadway Hall and will feature live mariachi music, Mexican food and an auction. Tickets are available for $55 by calling 733-0956 or going online at www.seanhumphreyhouse.org.

SALSA DANCE PARTY

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and learn to dance the salsa at the Blue Moon Ballroom, 1213 Cornwall Ave. There will be a beginning and intermediate salsa class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a Latin dance party from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There also will be refreshments and entertainment. Call 647-9778 or go to www.bluemoonballroom.com for details.

THE ROYAL

There will be no cover at The Royal, 208 E. Holly St., on Monday for the bar’s Cinco de Mayo party. The fiesta will include $5 shots of Patron tequila and $2 Coronas, as well as giveaways all night.

BOB'S BURGERS & BREWS

Head over to the downtown or Sudden Valley Bob’s Burgers & Brew to join in the Cinco de Mayo celebration Monday. There’ll be special chicken enchiladas, $3.50 margaritas, $3 Jose Cuervo shots and $3 Coronas.
