He only played in 10 games for the Bellingham Bells, but that was enough for former Ferndale High School standout Jake Locker to leave an impression.

Baseball America earlier this week selected Locker the top prospect for the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League.

Locker, who played only when his commitments as the University of Washington's sophomore starting quarterback allowed, hit .273 (9 for 33) with one home run and three RBI while playing in the outfield for the Bells.

The top full-time prospect in the league - and the No. 2 prospect overall, according to Baseball America - was Oregon State sophomore to be Josh Osich, who pitched for the WCCBL champion Corvallis Knights.
