Two new Structured Query Language Certificate Programs will be offered this fall by Western Washington University's Extended Education and Summer Programs.

A CNN poll for Money.com shows skilled SQL server specialists as the third most in-demand job, "so this certificate serves an important and emerging need," said Ariel Cleasby-Heaven, program manager for WWU's Extended Education programs.

The new programs, SQL Server Development Specialist and Oracle SQL &PL/SQL, are in addition to the existing SQL Server 2005 Specialist program.

The programs provide practical concepts and tools and hands-on experience for database professionals. They will be taught by experienced database administrators.

Each certificate program consists of two courses, offered in fall and winter quarters. Students attend class one evening per week and can earn two or three optional university credits per course.

An informational meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 405 32nd St., Room 342, in Bellingham.

For more information, go online to www.extendeded.wwu.edu/ or contact Extended Education at eesp@wwu.edu or (360) 650-3308.
