BLAINE - The Roaring '20s will return Saturday, Sept. 6, as community members re-enact Samuel Hill's appearance 87 years ago at the Peace Arch dedication.

Sam Hill, a famed Washington financier and lawyer, began fund-raising to build the arch to celebrate the centennial of the treaty that ended the War of 1812 between the U.S. and Great Britain.

The community is invited to the Peace Arch Dedication Sam Hill Days, from 1 to 4 p.m., to see historical re-enactments, peruse photo exhibits, check out vintage cars and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear 1920s fashions, and compete in a 1920s costume contest.

Last year's event was canceled because one of the main organizers became ill.
