A year after a disappointing season that saw Anacortes win just three games, the Seahawks have decided to pick up the pace in 2008.
Anacortes has plans to run a no-huddle offense this season, opening up what was once a grind-it-out style of play in favor of a tempo driven attack.
It’s a bold move for a team that reached the Class 2A state quarterfinals two years ago, but the Seahawks think they have the personnel to pull it off. It could mean a big year for wide receivers Alec Mavar and Wyatt Hendricks.
The trick of course will be finding a defense that will balance out a more wide-open offense that could produce more turnovers and then finding the right players to make it work. Anacortes thinks it has the quickness and speed to make that happen.
