BELLINGHAM - Sehome High School is open Thursday, Sept. 4, and on a regular schedule, after being closed the day before because of a power outage.
According to state law, students will not need to make up the school day since only one school from the district was affected.
A failure in the underground cable that supplies power to the school caused the outage, said Andy Wappler, spokesman for Puget Sound Energy. Crews worked from early morning to mid-afternoon Wednesday, Sept. 3, to dig up the damaged section of cable and splice in about 80 feet of wire, Wappler said.
