Sen. John McCain says Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's unmarried teenage daughter's pregnancy is "a private family matter." I agree.
Given that pregnancy is a private family matter it also follows that the choice to abort a pregnancy or not should be respected as a private family matter. If McCain and Palin want my political respect and trust that they in turn will respect my privacy then they will announce that they are not going to make abortion a public policy issue and will leave Roe v Wade unchanged.
